WRIGLEYVILLE — The Savannah Bananas are bringing their barnstorming tour back to Chicago next year, and Wrigley Field will play host this time.
The Bananas, whose wacky brand of baseball has captivated fans worldwide, will play three nights at Wrigley Field next summer, the Chicago Cubs announced last week. The games will take place July 24-26.
The new dates mark the second consecutive summer the Bananas will play in Chicago. The team performed for two sold-out nights at Sox Park in August, when more than 182,000 people sought to buy roughly 81,000 tickets over the two nights.
At the games at Sox Park, Sox legends Mark Buehrle and A.J. Pierzynski reunited while a Chance The Rapper concert broke out on the field.
