After a week of outside noise and internal doubt, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said his team responded with toughness and unity in a 23–6 win over Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry on Saturday. The Longhorns held the Sooners without a touchdown and forced three interceptions from Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer, spoiling his return from injury.

“Really proud of our players,” Sarkisian said. “This was not an easy week for them. Their ability to quiet the noise, stay connected to one another, put in the effort, and play our brand of football — I thought we played a very physical game.”
