More than 1,600 Calgarians braved the first snowfall of the year for the annual Alzheimer Calgary Walk and Run in Prince’s Island Park on Sunday.
Alzheimer Calgary executive director Barb Ferguson said the event hosted around 1,600 participants, 100 volunteers and raised $400,000.

“All of that money stays locally in Calgary and surrounding rural regions to support our programs and services for people impacted by dementia,” Ferguson said. “That’s caregivers and people who have a diagnosis of dementia.”
