Tragedy has rocked a primary school after two pupils died just days apart from one another.

A spokesman for Carr Lodge Academy in Doncaster confirmed the deaths of the unnamed schoolchildren in ‘separate’ incidents ‘entirely unrelated to the school’.

The academy, in Grady Drive, said it would be supporting students ‘with utmost respect’ in the coming weeks to help them deal with the tragedies.

According to YorkshireLive a school spokesman said: ‘It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we have been informed of the death of two of our pupils.

‘Whilst we understand that these were entirely separate circumstances and wholly unrelated to the school, the loss of two children within just a few days is both highly uncommon and heartbreaking for our school community.
