An 85-year-old driver was killed in a wrong-way crash in Lakeville Saturday morning.

According to the Lakeville Police Department, officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Cedar Avenue south of the intersection of 185th Street West at around 11:45 a.m.

At the scene, officers immediately provided aid to the vehicles’ occupants, who reportedly had "significant injuries."

A preliminary investigation found that a Jaguar XJ had been traveling south in the northbound lanes of Cedar Avenue when it collided with a Tesla Model 3.

Both drivers, who were the only occupants of their respective vehicles, were taken by ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center.

The driver of the Jaguar later died at the hospital. He’s been identified as an 85-year-old Lakeville man.
