PRUNTYTOWN, W.Va. — A historic preservation and tourism development project is on the books in Taylor County thanks to a federal grant earned by Backroads of Appalachia but a Taylor County lawmaker wants safety improvements at a dangerous intersection nearby before tourists flock to the area.
Backroads of Appalachia earned the $3.36 million grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission to transform the historic Evans Family Farmhouse near Pruntytown into a regional hub for motorsports tourism and the Appalachian Overland Triangle project. The structure will go from a farmhouse to a visitor center for the proposed recreation area.
