GRANTSVILLE, W.Va. — The Calhoun County Commission will meet on Tuesday, and on the agenda is consideration of the resignation of commissioner Jacob McCumbers.
McCumbers, 39, of Arnoldsburg, was arrested on September 13 and charged with 50 counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, or custodian. He was released after posting a $100,000 bail.
A criminal complaint showed that a teenage boy told the State Police Child Victim Unit that he had been sexually assaulted by McCumbers beginning when he was younger than 10 years old. The alleged victim said that the abuse continued for eight or nine years.
The alleged victim said that McCumbers — who was also a first-grade teacher at Arnoldsburg Elementary School — threatened to hurt him if he told anyone.
The commission will meet at 4 p.m. Tu
