LIHUE (HawaiiNewsNow) - Drivers in Lihu’e, lane closures and single-lane traffic are coming to parts of Puaole, Malae, Alohi, Uluhui, Ka’ana, and Palai Streets starting Monday through November 15, weekdays only.

The Department of Public Works is announcing road closures and single-lane contraflow traffic patterns for portions of Līhu‘e. Work will take place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.

Hawaiian Telecom crews will be installing fiber optic lines, and access to homes will still be allowed.

Watch for signs, flaggers, and plan extra travel time through the work zones.

Drivers should anticipate detours, lane closures, and road closure delays and allow extra travel time while in the work areas.
