UNIONVILLE, Ga. — There was a historic first in Macon on Saturday, as the Unionville community came together for a homecoming event.

Dozens of people turned out for free food, games, music, and activities at Center Hill Baptist Church.

The free event hosted by "For Unionville, By Unionville" brought together longtime residents and new neighbors. They focus on unity, culture, and neighborhood pride.

Founder Leah Duval said the goal was to celebrate Unionville's deep roots and resilient spirit. She says the community has long been overlooked, enduring years of redlining and under-funding.
