UFC Rio matchmaker

Mateusz Gamrot rolled the dice by stepping up to fight Charles Oliveira on short notice at UFC Fight Night 261, and ultimately it didn't pay off.

Gamrot (25-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC) stepped up in attempt to secure a breakthrough victory for his career against former lightweight champion Oliveira (36-11 MMA, 24-11 UFC) on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, but he was instead served his first career stoppage loss and forced back to the drawing board.

Was this a definitive ceiling point for Gamrot, who is 34? Can the Polish fighter bounce back and work his way to another top-five matchup down the line?

Watch the video above for thoughts and analysis on Gamrot's future after UFC Fight Night 261.
