BUFFALO, N.Y. — College hockey season is underway, and both of Western New York's college hockey program have been strong out the gate of the 2025-26 season.

While neither program has entered conference play yet, Niagara holds a 3-0 record after beating St. Lawrence and sweeping a series against Bowling Green, outscoring opponents 12-4.

The Niagara Purple Eagles will now go on the road against Union for games on Oct. 17 and 18. Canisius will face their first conference foe when they go to West Point to face Army on Oct. 14, and will then go to Hamilton, N.Y., to face Colgate for a two-game series on Oct. 17 and 18.
