NILES, Ohio (WKBN) -- An anti-war group from Pittsburgh gathered outside Howmet Aerospace in Niles this afternoon to protest its contract with defense contractor Lockheed Martin.

The Pittsburgh BDS Coalition is part of a boycott, divestment and sanctions movement. It says Howmet is making specialized parts for the F-35 jets used to bomb civilians in Gaza.

Howmet's website confirms it supplies materials and parts to Lockheed Martin for the jets.

"The war is happening very far away in another part of the world, and so it's difficult to feel like there's anything that we can do to stop it. So, when there's a company like Howmet that's just in our backyard and very close and is a crucial part of the pipeline that produces this genocide, we figure we have a chance to change things there," sa
