LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The Nicholasville Firefighters' Union partnered up with Shamrock Bar and Grille on Saturday to compete for a good cause.
The Brannon Crossin Shamrock location hosted the first-ever fall festival and chili cook-off on Oct. 11, with the proceeds going to Shriners' Children's Hospital.
Shamrock's co-owner, Carlie Andrade, said it's the first major fundraiser of its kind that they've hosted, and that it's been a great way to connect with the community in a fun and engaging way.
"Firefighters always have this motto, 'We show up on the worst day of people's lives. We want to show up on a day where we can be happy and celebrate, and people can see us in a different light," Andrade told Fox 56 News. "So it's really cool to pair up with somebody who sees all the worst o
