Flooding has hit areas of Gilbert as Sunday morning's storm caused issues across the town.

The Maricopa County Flood Control District reported more than two inches of rain in town by 5 a.m. Sunday.

In response, the town has closed Desert Sky Park, the beach at Cosmo Dog Park and the fields at Cactus Yards.

Additionally, water in the roadways caused northbound Gilbert Road to be closed at Williams Field Road while crews do pumping to get the street back open.

Other areas remain open, even as some receive attention from crews. Those include:

Val Vista and Germann northeast corner;

Val Vista and Frye northbound;

Higley and Pecos westbound;

Gilbert and Galveston northbound;

Gilbert and Valero;

Freestone Park.
