RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia raised filmmaker, James Mottern, is set to screen his new documentary at Richmond's Byrd Theatre this coming Monday.

The documentary, "A Beast Touch the Mountain," follows a group of Appalachian women in Bent Mountain, Va. as they fight to protect their land and way of life away from "a greedy and corrupt" fossil fuel pipeline.

The screening will be held Monday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. at Richmond's Byrd theater. Tickets to attend the screening are free.

The documentary was also as an official selection for the Richmond International Film Festival.
