TAMPA, Fla. — Former BYU linebacker Fred Warner left the San Francisco 49ers’ week six game in the first quarter with a leg injury.
The back of Warner’s right leg was landed on by his teammate, who was making a tackle, and he had to be carted off the field.
Warner had an aircast on his leg as he was taken to the locker room.
Through five games this season, the San Francisco linebacker has 50 total tackles (28 solo), two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and three pass breakups.
In 2024, Warner played most of the season on a fractured ankle. But early signs from the injury sustained against the Buccaneers make it seem like Warner will be sidelined.
More details on the severity of the injury and a potential timetable have yet to be released.
