EAST PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Hundreds filled Peoria’s Riverfront Park this weekend to take steps toward finding a cure for type 1 diabetes.
The Breakthrough T1D Walk, formerly known as the JDRF One Walk, is one of the largest fundraising events of its kind, supporting research and education for people living with Type 1 diabetes.
This year marked the first time the event took place at Riverfront Park after several years in East Peoria, a move organizers say will become its new long-term home.
