NEW ORLEANS — It was a costly win for Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte on Sunday against the Saints.
No, literally.
Boutte had 40 friends and relatives in the Caesars Superdome for the Patriots’ 25-19 win over the Saints in his home state of Louisiana. And Boutte footed the bill.
“We play the Saints, everybody wants to come, so just take care of the fam,” Boutte said.
How much does something like that cost?
Boutte made a face. “I couldn’t even tell you.”
Nevertheless, it paid off. The Patriots won, and Boutte performed like the five-star recruit he was coming out of Westgate High School in New Iberia, La., with five catches on five targets for 93 yards with two touchdowns.
