BRUCETON MILLS, W.Va. (WBOY) — Coopers Rock offers some of the best climbing in the eastern United States, bringing people from all across the country to take in the scenery, and one out-of-state college made the trip Sunday morning to host a climbing competition for all ages.
Garrett College in McHenry, Maryland, hosted the Coopers Rock Climb-a-thon Sunday, a fun and friendly top rope climbing competition that factors in both the difficulty and 'mileage' on the rock over three hours of climbing time.
This event acts as a fundraiser to benefit the students of the Outdoor Leadership & Adventure Education degree program at Garrett College by providing professional memberships, trainings, certification exams and personal outdoor clothing & equipment.
Prizes were awarded not only to the top
