Community members had a chance to celebrate an art form unique to our area this weekend.

The Bayfront Convention Center hosted the Great Lakes Beach Glass and Arts festival, celebrating something that was once trash being turned into treasure.

Nearly 30 vendors came together to sell art, jewelry, and decor made with the unique glass pieces collected from our lake.

Jennifer Reed, owner of Relish, said, "People will say, 'Well, what's to do in Erie?' This is one of the things that you don't have in every town. You don't have this in every community because this is something that you can only find, like I said, one of the top ten places in the country is Erie. People travel from all over to come to Erie to look for beach glass."
