The death of an unidentified man in downtown Montgomery is being investigated as a homicide, multiple media outlets reported.

WAKA and WSFA reported that the body was discovered by first responders on Oct. 11 just prior to 5 a.m. in the 100 block of Dexter Avenue, not far from the Court Square Fountain, citing information from Lt. Tina McGriff of the Montgomery Police Department. The man was unresponsive when responders arrived, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, the reports state.

Other than this being investigated a homicide, MPD has not released information about the circumstances around the man's death.
