A 10-year-old western lowland gorilla, named Denny, broke one of the layers of a three-layered tempered glass panel at the San Diego Zoo's gorilla forest habitat on Saturday, according to a press release from the San Diego Zoo.

The zoo added that Denny was not injured, and that the two gorillas who live in that area of the zoo will be cared for behind the scenes until the panel is replaced.

It is unclear what led up to the breaking of the tempered glass panel. An Instagram reel shared by the San Diego Zoo September 2023 of Denny joining the bachelor troop at the zoo once he turned nine-years-old.
