BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Trent Dilfer has been relieved of his duties at UAB.

The Blazers fell to Florida Atlantic 53-33 Saturday and are now 2-4 on the season.

UAB Director of Athletics Mark Ingram released the following statement Sunday afternoon and says that Blazers offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach will serve as the interim head coach:

Dilfer was 9-21 overall in Birmingham.
