BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring announced 15 grants totaling $2.5 million. The 15 grants support a variety of programs and developments.
Three of the grants will fund projects being run by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture itself. • $231,328 to increase the promotion and sales of specialty crops through local partnerships at domestic trade shows and missions • $199,381.30 to increase specialty crop access and education to schools and communities • $67,107 to support the export of potatoes to Canada, Mexico, and other countries
Ten of the 15 grants will go to NDSU, with the NDSU grants funding: • $129,267 to develop eco-friendly nematode management approaches for control of pin nematodes in field pea • $109,810 to advance lenti
