NEWTON, Ga. (WALB) - An investigation is underway after a deadly crash in Newton on Sunday, Oct. 12.

At around 7:55 a.m., Georgia State Patrol (GSP) troopers were called to the scene of the crash.

The investigation by GSP found that a vehicle was headed west on Clear Lake Road.

The driver failed to maintain their lane by crossing the center line, heading off the roadway, and hitting an embankment.

After the impact, the vehicle hit a tree and came to rest.

GSP said the driver and three passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.
