MADISON, Wis. — After penalties marred the endgame for No. 4 Minnesota Duluth on Saturday against No. 1 Wisconsin, they marred the whole game Sunday as the repeatedly shorthanded Bulldogs suffered a 4-0 loss and WCHA series sweep at La Bahn Arena.
UMD was whistled for 11 penalties and handed the Badgers eight power-play opportunities, on which Wisconsin scored three of its four goals. According to UMD Athletics, the 11 penalties were the team's most in a game since 2009.
Wisconsin opened the scoring on a power play goal, from Caroline Harvey at 6:07 of the first period, while Kate Kosobud was penalized for a hook.
