NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WPRI) -- Rainfall and wind are continuing in Southern New England, with it expected to pick up Sunday night into Monday morning.

Wind gusts of up to 50 mph are expected at the coast and towards the islands.

Officials have previously urged residents to prepare as power outages in the area could come with the wind damage.

A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect until 4 a.m. Monday and minor flooding could come along the coast.

Local fall events scheduled for the holiday weekend in this region have also been affected or canceled in some cases.

Some people were seen swimming in the water at Narragansett Town Beach Sunday afternoon while also experiencing the weather up close and personal.
