SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
As Northern California anticipates its first storm of the season, residents and businesses are gearing up to ensure readiness for the wet weather. At Blue Star Tires, mechanics are replacing tires and checking wiper blades to prepare drivers for rain and wet roads.
"There's a lot of dry rot on the tires because of the summer season," Eli Montero, a Blue Star Tire mechanic, said. "You got to make sure you do got good tires that would be able to withstand the hydroplaning. If not, then you'd have some consequences."
Travelers heading to the Sierra are also making preparations. Traveler Andres Martin, hoping to beat the snowfall, took his car in for some tune-ups before the trip.
