A perfect Northern California fall day will be followed by a couple of rainy days, and road crews are ready for the wet weather.
"We hope for the best but prepare for the worst," said Rafael Martinez, head of El Dorado County Department of Transportation.
Martinez said crews spent Friday clearing out storm drains. He says they will be back out on Monday morning.
"The fortunate news is that it isn't going to be a high-intensity rain,” Martinez said. “It’s going to be over the course of a couple of days."
Meanwhile, Caltrans crews in the higher elevations will look for any slick spots, though they believe the ground is too warm and the snow will immediately melt.
