KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Patrick Mahomes threw the ball to Xavier Worthy in the first quarter of their Week 6 game against the Detroit Lions to make NFL history.

Mahomes' touchdown throw made him the fastest player to reach the 300 touchdown pass mark. He passed former Miami Dolphins QB Dan Marino for the mark, which includes both regular and postseason stats.

Mahomes passed the mark in just 138 games compared to Marino's 147. He adds the milestone to an already-impressive resume, including three Lombardi trophies and Super Bowl MVPs.

The throw put the Chiefs up 6-3 against the Lions early in the first quarter.
