It's really becoming dry in southeast Texas — so dry, that drought conditions are slowly creeping towards us.

What else accompanies a drought? There's higher risk of fires, especially during and after the passing of a front. There's not any amount of significant rain in the forecast for seven to 10 days. It's going to remain dry, with cool temps at night and highs to near 90 on the coast. At least we're not dealing with coastal flooding like the east coast of the United States.

So, there's only 21 days remaining where you'll be able to legally retain flounder until Dec. 15. The fishery shuts down at 12:01 a.m. Nov. 1.
