WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) - One person was injured after a fire at an apartment complex on Sunday afternoon in Waterbury.

Officials said the fire happened around 12:55 p.m. near 264 Austin Road.

Two units caught on fire and eight apartments were deemed uninhabitable, according to the fire department.

Authorities also said a man was hospitalized for burns on his hands.

Crews had to turn off the power to the entire building while battling the fire.

The fire department said it was unclear how many people were displaced, but victims were helped by the American Red Cross.

The fire marshal was investigating the cause of the fire.
