Police said the woman found dead from a gunshot wound in the Alphabet District on Saturday was 39-year-old Krystal Lynne Pendergraph of Portland.

Officers found her after being called to do a welfare check on the woman shortly after 5 p.m. She was in a car parked along Northwest Kearney Street between 22nd and 23rd avenues.

Police have not announced any arrests and ask anyone with information about Pendergraph’s death to email homicidetips@police.portlandoregon.gov or call 503-823-0479 and reference case number 25-280342.

Her death marks the 36th homicide in Portland so far this year compared with 63 at the same time last year.
