OIL CITY, La. — Veterans of the 169th Engineer Battalion reunited in Oil City, Louisiana — brothers once again after more than 50 years.

The men, who built roads and highways in Vietnam, shared stories of laughter, loss, and lasting friendship.

They say the bond they formed in war has never faded — even as time and age have changed their faces.

For many, each reunion is a reminder of sacrifice, brotherhood, and the few chances left to say goodbye.

They are this week's Hometown Patriots.
