WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. — It has been nearly two weeks since the government shut down , not only leaving thousands of people without a paycheck but also threatening long-time running traditions.

This could be a pivotal week as the shutdown continues. If it is not resolved soon, military personnel could lose out on their first paycheck—due Oct. 15—since the shutdown started.

Currently, about 1.4 million federal workers have been furloughed or are working without pay. This includes TSA agents and air traffic controllers. As a result, airports across the country are experiencing delays, like in Arizona and Florida.
