Imagine members of two families, whose bloodlines stretch far and wide, gathering for a football match against each other.
That's what the Gleesons and O'Hallorans achieved at Irish Town Football Ground on Saturday, October 11, in front of a healthy crowd of 718 people, including the likes of Brendon Gale and David Foster.
"There were six people in our messenger group to start with, and it went from there; one thing led to another. Everything came together and people turned up in their droves," organiser Wade Gleeson said.
"The cars were lined up and down the road, and the people who were standing there were unbelievable. My son said, 'This is the biggest crowd I've ever played in front of'.
