KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A week after one of the sloppiest performances of the Andy Reid era, the Kansas City Chiefs cleaned up their act completely against the Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs were not penalized at all against the reigning NFC North champions, a week after a 13-penalty performance against the Jaguars cost Kansas City in Jacksonville.
Kansas City’s clean performance allowed the Chiefs’ offense to take advantage of an all-around outperformance of the Lions.
“Penalties are kind of a crazy thing,” said head coach Andy Reid following a 30-17 victory for the Chiefs. “Sometimes they come in waves. I thought the officials did a nice job, but I thought our guys did a nice job of correcting some of those with a good conscious effort put forward there.
