Australian TV personality Skye Wheatley has opened up about her shock split from partner Lachlan Waugh after eight years together.

The reality star, 31, said the couple reached "breaking point" while raising their two young sons, causing them to hit pause on their relationship.

In an emotional episode on Nova podcast Skye & Callum , titled 'The Real Truth About My Marriage Ending', Skye addressed the breakup rumours and the "toxic cycle" that followed.

"I feel like I've put this off," Skye told co-host and Love Island Australia star Callum Hole .

"You heard it here first, there has been a break up," she announced.

The pair who are not married have gone through "little breaks" in the past, but Skye revealed this is the longest they've been 'separated'.
