A coastal flood warning remains in effect for northeastern New Jersey as the nor'easter approaches on the evening of Oct. 12.
During high tides Oct. 12 into Oct. 13, New Jersey towns along the coast and Hudson River should expect elevated water levels and their low-lying areas to be affected by the tide, National Weather Service meteorologist Jay Engle said.
When is it going to rain?
Rain showers hit North Jersey by the afternoon on Oct. 12, and steady rain was expected to linger into Oct. 13.
"The rain may be moving in a little bit later than anticipated," Engle said Sunday morning. "The storm is crawling up the coast now and should be arriving in North Jersey this afternoon."
