Scotland is bracing for a bitter cold snap in the coming days as latest weather maps predict temperatures could plunge to a freezing -3C. ‌

The icy weather is set to hit the nation on Thursday, 23 October, according to the charts, leaving vast areas of the country shivering. ‌

WXCharts weather maps created on 12 October using Met Desk data reveal the frosty conditions will swiftly sweep into the country at midnight on 23 October, with areas around Fort William initially feeling the chill of the coldest temperatures. ‌

As the day unfolds, the freezing conditions will spread further, with other locations such as Portree and Glencoe seeing the mercury drop to -3C, the maps suggest.
