One of Effingham County's most popular parks is getting a major facelift.

Baker Park is being reimagined as the entire park is being renovated. Soon, residents will be able to enjoy a walking trail, pickleball courts, dog park, gazebo, kayak launch, picnic area and more.

During Tuesday night's county meeting, commissioners approved the $580,000 purchase of playground equipment designed for children between the ages of six months to 12 years old. The total cost for all the renovations at the park, including the new playground equipment, is $3.6 million.
