COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A police presence was reported around 1:30 a.m. Monday in the area of 17th Avenue and 17th Street. The location is close to Lakebottom Park.

Details remain limited, but our crew observed detectives with the Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit on scene, along with police tape cordoning off a portion of the area. It’s unclear whether anyone was injured.

Authorities have not yet released any official statements regarding the nature of the incident.
