A number of shops on Birmingham High Street in the city centre were closed today after a teenage boy was stabbed .
The 17-year-old victim was believed to have suffered potentially serious injuries after he was knifed near the junction of High Street and Dale End at around 6pm yesterday, October 12.
A substantial police cordon remained in place today, stretching from outside Burger King all the way to Metro Bank, near the Bullring.

Shops within the cordoned area included Greggs, Pandora and Deichmann, as well as Metro Bank and Barclays. Scores of shoppers attempting to enter the area were being redirected away from the scene.
