INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a pedestrian was critically injured in a crash on Indianapolis' near south side early Monday.

The crash was reported around 5:45 a.m. Oct. 13 at the intersection of East Raymond and Shelby streets .

Responding officers located a pedestrian, "believed to be a male," who was taken to a hospital in critical condition, an IMPD spokesperson said in a statement.

"The involved pickup, which originally left the scene, returned a short time later," the spokesperson said. "The driver of the pickup is cooperating with the investigation."

Police said it's believed the pickup truck was traveling westbound on East Raymond Street when the person was struck.
