Welcome back to the Last Chance Rundown, a weekly newsletter about local sports in the Helena area.

It was another busy week of high school sports in the Helena area.

The high school playoffs are approaching, as is the state cross country meet, and as we look at the calendar, the All-Class State Volleyball tournament is also less than a month away.

Oh, and the final week of the Class AA high school soccer regular season is this week. Both Helena teams have clinched a postseason berth on the boys side. Capital is still in the mix for the No. 1 overall seed in the Western AA. The Bruins would wrap that up with wins over Helena High and Hellgate this week, which would leave them at 12-2 at the end of the regular season.
