CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A person died after they were shot near SouthPark Mall in Charlotte on Monday morning.

The Oct. 13 shooting happened at an apartment complex by the mall, shortly before 7:30 a.m. on .

Police that the incident was deadly, while paramedics confirmed the person was shot. The circumstances that led up to the fatal shooting were not immediately clear.

Officers were investigating at the Hazel SouthPark apartments, which are right in front of the mall.

No other information was immediately available.

Monday’s shooting at the apartments came only about 12 hours after a separate shooting left another person dead at a strip mall in north Charlotte.
