President Donald Trump is considering construction of a triumphal arch to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding in 2026.

Initial plans for the arch call for it to be located at a traffic roundabout called Memorial Circle, across from the Lincoln Memorial, according to The Washington Post .

Justin Shubow, president of the National Civic Art Society, who has advised the Trump administration on its architectural plans, presented the idea to Trump and other officials earlier this year, according to the Post. They were enthusiastic about the concept.

Trump posted an image of the design on Truth Social over the weekend.

A 3D model of the arch was photographed on Trump’s desk in the Oval Office last week, according to Forbes .

The arch resembles the famous Arc de Triom
