Karur stampede: AIADMK, BJP, TVK welcome SC order for a CBI probe; justice will prevail, says Vijay

The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, AIADMK, and BJP on Monday (October 13, 2025) welcomed the Supreme Court order directing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe the September 27 Karur stampede and the constitution of a three-member monitoring committee to supervise the progress of the CBI investigation.

Reacting to the Supreme Court verdict, in a post on X, TVK president Vijay said: “Justice will prevail.”

In a social media post, the AIADMK said it had formed its position based on the principle, as affirmed by the Supreme Court, that “it is the right of the people to a fair and impartial probe.”

BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran said in a post on X: “The CBI probe into the incident was one of our strong demands, and I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Supreme Court.”
