ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) - More than 350 vehicles participated in a household hazardous waste collection event Saturday, as the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and the Rock Island County Waste Management Agency worked to keep dangerous materials out of landfills and storm drains.

The fall event provided residents with a safe disposal option for items that can’t be thrown in regular trash bins. Organizers said the timing coincided with seasonal cleanup efforts.
