Registering to vote is a legal requirement to vote in the Nov. 4, 2025 city/school election.
Monday, Oct. 20, is the final day to pre-register to vote. The Cerro Gordo County Auditor’s Office will be open until 5 p.m. on that date. Completed voter registrations may be mailed to the county auditor but must be either received by that deadline or must be postmarked on or before Monday, Oct. 20.

To register, a person must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Iowa, at least 17 years old but be 18 years old by Election Day, not have been convicted of a felony or have had voting rights restored, not have been judged mentally incompetent by a court of law, and not claim the right to vote anywhere else.
